our mission

The highest priority at Hotel Julamis is to provide our guests with a genuine personal service in a relaxed tasteful ambience. We plan to become a one of a kind Small Hotel fulfilling the wishes and needs of visitors while exploring this exciting and culturally diverse region of Yucatan.

location and description

Hotel Julamis is situated on the corner of Calle 53 x Calle 54 within Merida's Historic District. It lies in an area close to Parque La Mejorada, which contains some of Merida's finest colonial and French-inspired architecture. The neighborhood is very safe and quiet. From here guests can walk to many plazas and museums such as: El Zocalo, La Catedral, Parque Santa Ana, the Anthropology Museum, the Yucatecan Song Museum, Paseo De Montejo, the recently opened Museum of Popular Art, and other downtown attractions.

The hotel is composed of two floors accommodating six spacious guest rooms, one large suite, a second floor terrace with a plunge pool, lobby, central patio with garden and water fountain, kitchen and a two car parking garage. Guest rooms are fully furnished and newly remodeled with private bathrooms, mini bars and Split air conditioners. The hotel was recently restored with passion and talent in a typical Mexican style.

A complimentary continental breakfast that includes French toasts, coffee, assorted teas, spreads, fresh orange juice and fresh cut fruits is served every morning in the courtyard. The hotel includes common areas where visitors can play board games, surf our free Internet service, watch satellite TV, listen to music, read from our book exchange library, or just simply relax on a hammock by the garden. Our small size assures a personalized service and a tranquil atmosphere.

From the front desk, guests can book adventurous tours or find information about how to get to nearby Mayan Ruins, jungle reserves or sleepy beach towns; using Yucatan inexpensive and efficient  public transportation system. ]

In addition, approximately 300 species of birds pass through on migration, or live here. Connected to nearby Uxmal by a ceremonial causeway, Kabah is another important Mayan site. Its buildings date from about the 9th century and are in the Puuc style of architecture.
